Lentua
Lentua was designed for a forested site near the coast in the western Helsinki region. The house is organised along a symmetrical central axis, creating a calm clarity and long views from the entrance through the house to the spruce forest beyond. At its centre is a 6.5-metre-high living room and kitchen, where 45-degree ceilings and exposed CLT walls create an almost sacral atmosphere.
The underlying concept is simple and can be adapted to different sites, scales and requirements, while the plan, openings, materials and relationship to the landscape are developed individually for each commission.
